Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities (IRF)
IRFs deliver intensive rehabilitation (3+ hours of therapy per day) to patients recovering from stroke, brain or spinal cord injury, major joint replacement, or other conditions where the patient can tolerate and benefit from a hospital-level rehab program. Eligibility is stricter than skilled nursing rehab.
